Toastmaster Meeting – Say Sorry

It was another interesting biWeekly meeting.

The Table Topic Master, Devan had prepared a very long list of topics to choose from. Wow!!!

1. “It takes a strong person to say I am sorry and an ever stronger person to forgive” What do you think?

2. When you say “I am sorry”, do you think it will wipe away the tears, pain and sadness caused by you?

3. When do you say “I am sorry”?

4. Saying “I am sorry” doesn’t mean that you are wrong and the other person is right. So what does it mean to you?

5. When someone hurts you and didn’t apologize for his/her actions, do you hold a grudge against him/her or …..?

6. Do you say “I am sorry” because, logically it is the right action or because emotionally it is the right action…

7. What was the most difficult “I am sorry” that you had said?

8. How long does take you to forgive someone and why?

9. Regardless of who is right or wrong, men should always say “I am sorry” 1st. Do you agree, if yes or no, why?

Meeting Invitation - Say Sorry

Sept 5 has been declared as Say Sorry Day, in Malaysia.

"Sometimes it's quite hard to say sorry.." "Saying sorry is a sign of weakness..." "Saying sorry is a good start to making amends and bringing change."

>> Do you agree with those phrases? As human beings, we all make mistakes... Though it's a very simple word to say, but that doesn't mean to right wrongs, but at least it can possibly take away the hurt caused by it. Let's meet up on Thursday (23rd Sept) and share your own views, perhaps your interesting stories about....anything related to "sorry"??

Say "Sorry..." It is all the more significant in this holy month of Ramadan. But, don’t just do it for a day... ^_^

Toastmaster Meeting - Honouring Malaysian Women

In conjunction with National Women’s Day in Malaysia on the 25th August, the theme for this week's meeting is "Honoring Malaysian Women". It was an interesting meeting indeed. Here's a very interesting article about Malaysian Women from the "Women Summit 2008" The table topics related to this theme are very mind-challenging:

1. If you were a woman for a day - how would you spend the day, and what would you do? (applicable only to a man)

2. As a woman, would you choose, if you could change - to stay at home and be the backbone of your family or go out and set the trend for other women in social terms - and why (applicable only to a woman)

3. Who is your most respected woman? Share with us why you think so highly of her?

4. Country: Malaysia. Year: 2020. Location: Putrajaya. Scenario: Its just after elections, and majority Malaysians voted for a change, they have voted their 1st Malaysian Woman Prime Ministress. If man: Do you think changes will be made or things will remain the same, and why? If woman: If you were voted, what changes would you make and why?

5. How do you cherish the womens of your life?, on daily basis.

6. Women generally are unique, what actually makes them special, share with us the essential quality of a women that you have experienced...

STMC Meeting - Ghostbusters

Wow, what an amazing meeting again! I could remember Pala's ghost story - during his childhood, happened in his school days... I wish I could hear him describing those frightening moments again...

Anyway, the table topics given for today are:
1- What is your favourite ghost movie? why?
2- Have you ever dreamt of the ghost after you've watched a ghost movie?
3- Did you ever wish to see spirits? Ghosts? Why?
4- What is the scariest ghost story you've ever heard?
5- Have you seen a ghost before? Explain.
6- Do you like to watch thriller/scary movies? Why?
7- There are many kinds of ghost, which one you fear the most?
8- Have you encountered possessed person before? If not, why do you think some people are being possessed by evil spirits?

I agree some of the topics are quite difficult as some people never experienced it before.
So, how are you going to tell us your scary story within 2 minutes? :)

Meeting Invitation - Ghostbusters

Yea! Ghostbusters! Which means anything about paranormal / extra-ordinary experience. Did I ever encounter one? Hmm...to be frank, I've never seen any nor able to really see one, but I've had "indirect" real-life experience and heard some "woooooo-brrrrrrr" stories before.... This is one of my real-life experiences:

"My family spent a few days in my father's village, and the house is located down the hill. There was no electricity, that means no TV to watch and thus early night sleep. While some of us were already in a deep sleep in the midst of the faint jungle symphony, I was not. Then there was this loud-throaty sound from the distance. I kept on listening to it as it became softer and softer. I knew that it's getting nearer....... Suddenly...."

Ops! You have to come and get the continuation from me ;)
